Spatial Concepts
I was tasked with helping to materialize Yoram Roth’s artistic vision of merging photography, sculpture, modern design, and manufacturing technologies such as computational design and additive manufacturing. The creative direction drew inspiration from the work of Italian avant-garde “Spatialists” of the 1960s, including Lucio Fontana, Agostino Bonalumi, and Enrico Castellani.
Building on the artist’s previous work, Spatial Concepts emerged from his investigation into how light interacts with ridges and openings on a surface, and from his ambition to create spatial experiences beyond the traditional flat artwork on the wall.
REFRAMD eyewear is developed with multiple nose bridge options and frame widths to accommodate diverse facial geometries. The Afronaut Collection consists of five designs, each available in nine fit variations and two colourways: black with orange or brown lenses, and blue with grey lenses.
The Afronaut Collection explores eyewear through the lens of computational design. Produced with advanced materials and defined by minimal surface geometry, each frame blends sculptural silhouettes with refined contours. The result is a bold yet precise aesthetic that reimagines the relationship between form, fit, and identity.
The Afronaut Collection, a powerful symbol of individuality and cultural pride, is available globally. Explore it at www.reframd.com or in select stores across major cities like Milan, Dusseldorf, and Amsterdam through our retail partner.
